Primary 6 and PSLE Maths Tuition in East Singapore

In Primary 6, maths tuition has one job: the PSLE Mathematics paper. Your child's maths result becomes one of four Achievement Levels, and the PSLE Score is the sum of the four, from 4 to 32 (SEAB, MOE). Moving maths up one AL moves the total by one point.

Where the AL bands fall

Each subject is graded in eight Achievement Levels (MOE):

What it costs

Published hourly rates for primary home tuition in 2026 run from about S$25 to S$40 with a part-time tutor, S$35 to S$60 with a full-time tutor and S$55 to S$90 with a current or former school teacher (FamilyTutor, SmileTutor, TutorCity). Questions people ask

How is the PSLE Score calculated?

Each of four subjects gets an Achievement Level from 1 to 8; the PSLE Score is the sum, from 4 (best) to 32 (MOE, SEAB).

What mark do I need for AL1 in PSLE Maths?

90 and above. AL2 is 85 to 89, AL3 is 80 to 84 and AL4 is 75 to 79 (MOE).

Is it too late to start tuition in Primary 6?

No, but the time is short. P6 lessons concentrate on the paper itself: timing, method marks and the question types worth the most marks.

Is there a charge for sending a request?
