# Become a Primary Tutor in the East

Families in the East ask for primary tutors in English, Maths, Chinese and Science. Register once; we contact you when a request matches your subjects and area.

## Who we are looking for

- Undergraduates, graduates, full-time tutors and current or former school teachers
- Primary English, Maths, Chinese or Science, any of P1 to P6
- Able to teach at families' homes in Marine Parade and Katong, Bedok, Tampines, Pasir Ris, or online

## How assignments work

- A family sends a request with the level, subjects, area and preferred days.
- We contact registered tutors whose subjects and areas match.
- The tutor, the time and the rate are confirmed with the family before the first lesson.

## Rates in the market

For reference, three agencies' published 2026 tables put primary home tuition at S$25 to S$40 an hour for part-time tutors, S$35 to S$60 for full-time tutors and S$55 to S$90 for current or former school teachers ([FamilyTutor](https://www.familytutor.sg/tuition-rates), [SmileTutor](https://smiletutor.sg/tuition-rates/), [TutorCity](https://www.tutorcity.sg/tuition-rates)).

## What families on the East side ask about

The PSLE format and scoring, the Chinese and English orals, and maths word problems come up most. Our [parent guides](/guide/) set out the 2026 formats from SEAB.
